A story of investigation into a woman's brutal murder 50 years ago by a investigative novelist and his crime analyst girl friend. Mammooty is the novelist and main character.
50 years ago in a town called Paleri, a woman named Manikyam, was brutally murdered. The subsequent investigation was allegedly blotched to save some prominent person then. 50 years ago, at that time, the first communist government of Kerala was taking charge and the story telling features that time and life style. It reveals the cruelty of the upper caste towards lower caste and the risky life of women who were treated as commodities. Towards the end, a lot of truth are revealed. The director has done a commendable job in setting up the props in line with post independent India with the feudal system.
A must see for lovers of malayalam movies. My personal rating is 3 out of 5…
